Speak of adding value to the dental service, and here comes the role of a dental assistant into play. In our Dr. Caroline Krivuzoff-Sanderson dental clinic in Red Deer, Alberta, dental assistants' duties are most varied and comprehensive. From assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures to helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment to providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, dental assistants do it all. They are the right hand to the dentist and help raise the dental services' quality standards.
The role of a hygienist is as essential as that of dental assistants in our Red Deer dental office. The dury of a dental hygenist is to teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health, remove calculus and plaque, apply preventive materials to the teeth, amongst many other things.
